We drove from Isle Royale in upper Michigan, all the way to Chicago, and spent a glorious 24 hours there.  The drive took us through Green Bay, Wisconsin, so we detoured to see Lambeau Field, and had a great lunch (including some requisite cheese curds) overlooking the stadium before continuing on our way to Chicago.  We arrived in Chicago in the early evening, to the home of Keith and Mary Krause, who had invited us to crash in their driveway overnight.  We had an awesome Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza dinner with them and their adorable children, Tommy, Kate, and Maggie.  The kids had a blast playing laser tag, Legos, and many, many NERF wars, and we all stayed up way too late catching up.  The next morning, after a grocery trip (they let me borrow their car, and I felt like I was making a "jailbreak"), Keith took us all sailing on his sailboat on Lake Michigan.  It was the most incredible way to see the skyline, and we all had an absolute blast.  That afternoon, we drove home through downtown Chicago, back to their home, and packed up to head to Indiana.  Such an incredible time in Chicago, and we are so grateful to the Krause family for their amazing hospitality during our stay!
