INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK, INDIANA

Following our time in Chicago, we drove an hour and a half to Indiana Dunes National Park, and arrived in the evening.  We stayed in the Indiana Dunes State Park Campground, and it was ideally located for the next day's adventure.  We played some games and grilled some dinner and hit the sack, listening to the rain as we slept.  It's our favorite when it rains!  The next morning, we headed out to do the "3 Dune Challenge" hike in the park, to Mount Tom, Mount Holden, and Mount Jackson.  It was a scramble up LOTS of sand at many points, but we all did great and finished in no time.  We headed to the Visitor Center, and spent some time there before heading on our way to Notre Dame.
