NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
Following our time in Florida and Alabama, we headed to New Orleans, Louisiana. Justin and I hadn't been in almost 20 years, and were anxious to see the city post-Katrina and also show the kids around as safely as possible. The night we got there, we headed for a walk to Bourbon Street, which surely opened the kids' eyes. There weren't nearly as many people as usual there, which was good as we were able to stay distanced and still take it all in. Surely a feast for the eyes! We exited fairly quickly and headed back to the RV to keep things safe, but we were glad to show the kids the French Quarter at night. The next morning, we hopped on our bikes to explore the city. We had beignets and cafe au last at Cafe du Monde, visited Jackson Square, took in the Mississippi River, and explored the French Quarter. That afternoon, we had a blast swimming and relaxing back at camp. We ordered some creole food to be delivered that night, and had a blast trying jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish étouffée, and po boys. What a great time in the Big Easy!Bourbon Street at night...
