Following our time in Austin, we made the 3 Hour drive to Dallas, Texas, where we would spend the next couple of days. When we found out the Irish would be playing the University of Alabama in the Rose Bowl relocated to Dallas, we decided to take the leap and attend the game. We were able to score a parking pass, which allowed us to stay in the lot outside AT&T Stadium for two nights, the night of New Year’s Eve, and then the night of the game. We arrived in the early evening on New Year’s, and were so excited to rendezvous with our dear friends, the Mariottis, who had also made the trek from the bay area in a rented RV. After parking next to each other in the lot, we had a wonderful New Year’s Eve together, complete with a huge dual bonfire, racing RC cars in the rain, eating an awesome barbecue dinner from Franklin’s, and enjoying our time together! It was a great way to ring in the new year! The next morning, we woke up, ready to tailgate in the lot, and one of our college friends, Eric, met us as well. We enjoyed some breakfast tacos, some Voodoo Doughnuts which the Mariotti‘s had brought from Austin, and had a blast tailgating in the lot until it was game time. AT&T Stadium was such an amazing venue to watch the game, and, though we wish the outcome of the game had been different, we had such a wonderful time cheering on our team! Such an incredible experience for all of us! After the game, we headed back to the RVs for some more bonfires, and dinner together before bed. What an amazing time in Dallas with our amazing friends!
